    Descripción del juego

Goose Green is an installment in the Tactical Combat Series (TCS), dedicated to the initial ground confrontation of the Falklands War on May 28, 1982. This battle held immense significance for both Argentinians and the British. The Argentinians sought to demonstrate their capabilities against the formidable British war machinery, while the British aimed to secure a land victory to boost public morale and political support following recent naval setbacks.

Originally planned as a raid, the conflict evolved into a grueling 14-hour battle, culminating in a hard-earned British triumph. Goose Green meticulously simulates this historical engagement, with each game turn representing a 20-30 minute segment and a map scale of 125 yards per hex. Players command units ranging from sections to platoons. Both sides fielded forces roughly equivalent to a reinforced Battalion, ensuring swift gameplay and high replay value. With minimal special rules, this game transports players into the 1980s, showcasing that in classic infantry confrontations, the fundamentals haven't changed much since WWII.

The British player faces the daunting task of orchestrating a rapid assault across the entire map, eliminating all Argentinian resistance points, and seizing Goose Green with minimal losses. To achieve this, the British must judiciously employ their limited supporting assets, including half a battery of artillery, MILAN Anti-Tank Guided Missiles, and light mortar and machine gun support. All this while confronting dug-in Argentinian forces, who outnumber them 2:1.

The Argentinian player commands solid troops, backed by reasonably adequate artillery and air support. Their strategy involves establishing a layered defense against a more agile British force accustomed to higher operational tempos and greater firepower. Each turn demands critical decisions, such as when to hold the line, when to retreat, and where to deploy the remaining reserves to slow and potentially halt the British advance.

Although the Argentinians may lack the motivation and training level of the British, they compensate with fortified positions, minefields, trenches, numerous heavy weapons, and anti-aircraft guns to bolster their defense.

    Scenarios in Goose Green include:

    1. The Battle of Goose Green (historical deployment, spanning 39 turns).
    2. Burntside House and Low Pass (5 turns).
    3. Darwin Hill (15 turns).
    4. The Airfield and the Schoolhouse (14 turns).
    5. Bloody Goose Green (full-scale battle with enhanced Argentine deployment, spanning 40 turns).

    Components of the game include:

    - Goose Green game-specific rulebook
    - Two TCS Charts & Tables
