Introduction
Some of the most rewarding experiences in life come from those who are willing to ask the tough questions...
"Is there a more meaningful, entertaining, and mentally stimulating way to play these games solo than the tedious back-and-forth? Can we create a solitaire mode for Card Driven Games (CDGs) that allows players to experience the unfolding story while being surprised by unexpected events, reacting to dynamic situations, and remaining unaware of the opponent's cards?" This is the essence of the CDG Solo Method, as described by Stuka Joe in his article "The Madness Behind a CDG Solo Method" in Inside GMT, 2016.

AND WE'RE BACK! Our mission is to continue creating Playsheets for GMT's CDGs, and we are back with nine new Playsheets, two new Card Displays in Red and Yellow, and a Black Fate Die.

Gameplay Overview
The CDG Solo System complements your favorite CDG and is designed to elevate your solitaire experience by reintroducing elements of wargaming that often get lost in standard two-handed play—specifically, as mentioned by Stuka Joe, the flow of the narrative and the fog of war.
The system features two Card Displays used to manage each side's strategy cards. At the start of each side's turn, you roll the Fate Die to determine which cards in the slots are available for play. Usually, 2 or 3 cards are accessible at a time, but the final decision lies with you. After playing a card, the marker on the Cards Remaining track moves one spot to the left, and then it's time to roll the die for the other side's turn.
With minimal turn-to-turn maintenance, the rhythm of play becomes second nature, allowing the game to shine. The interplay between the Fate Die roll and the Card Displays offers several benefits to solitaire CDG players. Firstly, the singular die roll provides a swift result, limiting options and enabling quick decisions for each side.
Secondly, since cards are only revealed when their corresponding slot is rolled, players remain unaware of all the cards available to each side. This, combined with the Fate Die dictating the available slots each turn, reintroduces an element of uncertainty, allowing players to focus on the active side's options without trying to account for every card or pretending to know the opponent's plans.
Lastly, the system introduces surprise. Occasionally, the perfect strategy hinges on the die roll. Whether facing adversity until the ideal card is revealed or experiencing everything aligning perfectly until the required card slot remains unrevealed, the CDG Solo System rekindles the fog of war in solitaire CDG wargaming. It is these unexpected moments that make for the most captivating stories.

Playsheet Support
Pack 2 introduces official Playsheet support for nine GMT games:
- 1960: The Making of The President
- Commands & Colors: Ancients Epic Battles
- Commands & Colors: Napoleonics
- Commands & Colors: Napoleonics Epic Battles
- Commands & Colors: Medieval
- WW2: Barbarossa to Berlin
- Pursuit of Glory
- Empire of the Sun
- Wilderness War
Playsheets are single sheets of rules, front and back, containing all game-specific rules needed to use the system. They include setup diagrams, die result rulings, and modifications to meet the demands of unique game rules.
For those familiar with Stuka Joe's original solo method, the Playsheets are based on the original "Tweak Sheets," offering the same ease, simplicity, and clarity to enhance the play experience. While the CDG Solo System initially supports the mentioned titles, the development team aims to create more official Playsheets to support both existing and new CDGs in the GMT catalog.
Lastly, we acknowledge that the CDG Solo System was a collaborative effort from the community, and we want to give back to the community that developed this system. Therefore, we've made the rulebook, Playsheets, and all necessary files available as a free Print-and-Play (linked above).

Why Might I Want Another Set of Card Displays?
Beyond the convenience of storing a copy in the box of each of your most-played CDGs, there's another reason to consider a different-colored set of Card Displays—playing multi-player CDGs with up to four factions. We have already explored higher player-count GMT CDGs with the upcoming release of Clash of Sovereigns, which features four factions and includes a CDG Solo Playsheet in the box. Additionally, we have a couple of other higher player-count CDGs on the development docket, making extra Card Displays a valuable asset!
